The Racso Project c.i.c. is a social enterprise established to rebuild and redevelop Samandag's economy and infrastructure in southern Turkey. It was torn apart by three catastrophic earthquakes in 2023.

What happened on the 6th of February?
On this date a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey followed by 7.6 and 6.4 magnitude earthquakes. As seen on the news many buildings collapsed and there was a devastating loss to life. Many men, women, children and infants who had dreams and aspirations were never to be seen or heard again. Some were reduced to dust from the sheer weight of the buildings that collapsed.
The exact number of individuals who passed away will never be known, but many NGO coordinators estimate it to be in the hundreds of thousands. This would make it one of the worst natural disasters in human history.
Eighteen months on people are still living in tents with no sewage works, no running water, gas, or electricity. The Racso Project aims to change that and improve the lives of those affected.
